Technology

Light imaging in the air. Medium-free volumetric display technology, no screen, no medium needed, letting light stand up on its own.

From Invisible to Visible

What it is

HoloVison Studio's material-free volumetric display technology is formally named DBA (Distributed Beamforming Architecture). It is a display technology that forms three-dimensional volumetric light bodies directly in open air — it requires no screen, no scrim, no nanomaterials, and no physical medium of any kind. The air itself is the imaging space.

What it enables

The DBA architecture has three core characteristics. Material-free: the air itself is the light-emitting body, requiring no carrier. Intrinsically safe: safety is guaranteed by the physical mechanism, and energy outside the imaging region always remains below international safety standards. Naked-eye 3D: multiple viewers looking from different angles at the same time all see true perspective relationships, with no wearable device required. Based on these three characteristics, the technology can be applied to cultural tourism performances, brand launch events, theme parks, holographic communication, and education and healthcare.

Current status and limits

Multiple Chinese invention patents and utility model patents have been filed, and a global patent search confirmed zero conflicts with prior art. The patents have been published and prototype validation is underway. The technology is currently at the stage of moving from prototype validation toward engineering. Specific commercialization timelines, maximum imaging dimensions, and brightness specifications are subject to the formal statements provided during technical discussions between the parties.
